7. How old do you have to be to do a tour of Cadbury World?
We state tours are not really suitable for children under the age of 5 years for a couple of reasons, the first being the content covered on the tour is aimed at an older age group and the second reason is there are numerous stairs and alot of walking involved with the tour and children are not allowed to be picked up and carried at any stage during the tour. We have front and back pack carriers available free of charge (conditions apply) for children under the age of 2 to be used whilst on the tour should you decide to bring them. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
8. Is car parking available?
Metered parking is available along Cumberland and Castle Streets. Parking is also available at the nearby Railway Station.
9. I am coming to Dunedin on a cruise ship and have booked my tour via the website, but how do I get from the Port to Cadbury World?
Often your ship will have arranged transport into Dunedin City (The Octagon). There are also a range of shuttles and buses that depart from Port Chalmers. Their frequency can vary depending on demand. You may also choose to take a taxi into town, this will cost you around $35-$45. Cadbury World is a 3 minute walk from the Octagon where the majority of the buses and shuttles will drop you off.
10. What disability access is available?
Wheelchair access is available within Cadbury World Reception and Visitor Centre areas. As the Full Tour contains a number of flights of stairs, (over 3 levels) it is not a suitable environment for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
11. What level of fitness is needed to take the tour?
Visitors need to have a reasonable level of fitness to cope with stairs. The Factory is also very warm when operational, so medical conditions aggravated by heat may need to be carefully considered.

At the conclusion of the Tour, visitors enter the Cadbury World store where you can purchase Cadbury products and unique Cadbury World branded items at favourable prices. Please note the the Cadbury World Shop is only available to visitors who have purchased a ticket.

Cadbury World is open 7 days a week, with tours running from 9am-3.15pm. Please note that Cadbury World is shut on the 25th and 26th of December and the 1st and 2nd of January. Cadbury World is also shut for a week in July each year to perform maintenance. Cadbury World is shut on the 29th October 2011 due to site maintenance.
16. Why does it say the tour is not suited to children under 5?
The reason it states that the tour is not suited to the under 5 age group is because of Health and Safety. There are over 200 stairs on the tour route and children can not be carried at ANY stage of the tour. We have front and back carriers for infants, or else the child has to be able to walk the tour route themselves. We leave this decision up to you regarding the tour and if your child can handle the physical side of it.
